I Hate Indiana Weather

So, I'm going to have to attempt to go into work today during what appears to be a mini-blizzard. The only thing that worries me is the highway I take to work is apparently drifting completely shut. And the truck I'm driving has no extra weight in the back whatsoever. So sliding is a fairly common occurrence. I would say that I'm an amazing driver, but people who know me also know about my curse when it comes to owning vehicles (thankfully borrowing them doesn't seem to affect them).

So if I wind up stranding myself in the middle of a blizzard and freezing to death, remember that I still love you.

Haven't been getting a whole lot of sleep lately, about maybe 3 - 4 hours a night. I still have work, but this week I'll be on a mini-vacation, so look for a post around then (probably Wednesday or Thursday). Until then, stay frosty.

Louis C.K. Is The Man

Not much of a post, but thanks to Reddit I discovered that Louis is offering a show through his website that is completely DRM free, and only $5 to boot. He is one of my favorite comedians of all time, and hopefully he's rolling in bank because of this. Go check it out here.

Musical Tastes

I used to be a very angry person (though most days, I'm still kinda angry, but now I know why that is, and whom it's directed at). My musical tastes used to reflect this. It didn't matter how terrible it sounded, if it was fast paced, angry, and made me want to break shit, I would want as much of it as possible. Some days this may still be the case, but it's not like it once was.

As I've grown older, I've calmed down a bit, and now know much more about myself, and the way I think about a lot of things (who'd of thought, I actually formed my own opinions!). My musical taste has not only changed, but expanded a lot over the years. Gone are the days where I would sit around and listen to music talking about how pissed they were about everything, or how they wanted the whole world to burn (not all groups are like this, I know). Gone are the times I would sit there, hear something amazing that my mom would be enjoying, and would denounce it because my own mother was listening to it and subsequently enjoying it (my mother is an awesome person, and has amazing tastes in music as well).

Here is a short list of some of the bands I used to listen to the most.

Marilyn Manson

The first four bands I don't even listen to anymore, and as soon as I hear them play I start cringing. Mr. Manson and I still have a good relationship, though his latest album didn't spark my interest as much as his earlier works have (Holy Wood, Mechanical Animals, and Antichrist Superstar I still love to this day). If you go to my last.fm page here you can look at a more comprehensive list, but for now I'll post a top 6 of what I've been listening to most (because 6 is a wonderfully arbitrary number for this post).

The list above doesn't do this post much justice, or show what I've been blathering on about, but I figure 6 bands should get what I'm trying to illustrate across. None of the group above (save for Tool, but even then that's a pretty big stretch) sound anything like what I used to be into.

Music is very much a big part of my life now, and I'm very glad for it. It's a wonderfully beautiful medium for communicating various things. And the best part? I'm still discovering songs and amazing groups to this day, and I hope it continues for a long time. So if you have any recommendations, please let me know!
